BRUSSELS, BELGIUM — Ted Swinkels, managing director of Cefetra, has been elected president of COCERAL, the European association representing the collectors, distributors, exporters, importers and agribulk storers of agricultural commodities, during its general assembly this week.

For the last seven years, Swinkels has been managing director of Rotterdam, Netherlands-based Cefetra, which supplies agricultural raw materials to the animal nutrition, food ingredients and energy industries. It is part of the German Baywa Group.

Giorgio Dalla Bona, chief executive officer at Italy-based Cereal Docks International, was re-elected vice president after completing a four-year term. Cereal Docks is in grain and oilseeds trading and has a crushing facility in Italy.

Also elected to a vice president’s role at COCERAL was Oriol Serrahima, Cargill’s managing director for Grains Europe Middle East & Africa. Serrahima, who has been with Cargill for more than 20 years, is responsible for the grains supply chain, including trading, origination, ports and silos.

The newly elected officers expressed their commitment in supporting COCERAL’s activities and represent the interests of all its members with policy makers.
