ANKARA, TURKEY – An explosion near grain silos located at the Port of Derince in western Turkey injured at least 10 people on Aug. 7, Reuters reported.

Kocaeli Governor Seddar Yavuz told Reuters the blast occurred near Turkish Grain Board (TMO) silos and that initial evaluations show that it occurred "due to wheat dust compression during the transfer of wheat from a ship to the silo.

He said two of the injured are in serious condition and have been admitted to a local hospital.
