Hardened grain in a silo at the IGPC Ethanol production facility based in Ontario, Canada had resulted in reduced capacity for several years. The grain was blocking access points, the tapered portion of the silo’s cone made it difficult to accurately access volume, and many of the sensors of the inventory management system had been rendered ineffective by hardened grain. After several unsuccessful attempts by other contractors, IGPC hired Mole•Master™ Services Corporation based in Marietta, Ohio, USA to address the issues. Using its proprietary Big•Mole™ System, Mole•Master removed approximately 340 tons of grain from the silo and brought it back to full capacity.
